Tis' the Season

Like a lot of people Christmas is coming way to fast for me. I didn't find the gift for the guild party yet. I did find an address book I was going to give my one sister 10 years ago. I told Tom that the ink pen has to be dry by now.

My husband is wearing me out. He needs something to do. I suggested he look for a part time job in January. Today after snow blowing Tom still had some energy and wanted to get the gifts separated and wrapped. We do Christmas stockings so I got them sorted out and Tom provided the plastic bags and felt tip pen to put a name on each bag. Then he insisted we use up the rolls of wrapping paper instead of the 100's of gift bags I have. I have to make a note to myself not to buy any more gift bags. I did make a note on the calendar to remember the Christmas Crackers. I want to start the English tradition. My cousin in England sent us some Crackers last year but they arrived after Christmas.

My mother couldn't sleep for two nights obsessing about the afghan she was making. I told her I wasn't going to help her finish her knitting but I gave in. Sunday we knitted all day and into the night and finished her knitting. Now Mother is making a sweater for my youngest granddaughter.

I've been knitting mittens. I intend to have a grab bag of socks, scarves and mittens.

One week to go to Christmas. I've read three Christmas novels in-between knitting and I've taped a bunch of Christmas movies from Hallmark and Lifetime networks. I found a pile of DVD's I bought to replace VHS tapes. I'm good if we should end up snowed in one of these days. We did have a lot of snow Sunday so here's hoping for a white Christmas.
