March on!

Today is the last day of February and one more day closer to spring. We had a couple inches of snow last night which made me house bound. I had a couple errands to run but I couldn't do it because of a lack of boots. I remember when I used to shovel the snow myself but those days are long gone.

It was a quiet day with my hubby working a temp job. I had to admit I missed his pacing the floor trying to find something to do. I wanted to finish a book I was reading but didn't finish it. My mother has all the seasons of "Sex in the City" which she's been watching every afternoon. I asked her if we could have a quiet day with no television but she said no. It's her television but it's my house. It doesn't make sense to me either.

I finished my top down sweater which was our guild project. I was very happy with the way it turned out. I found some mittens I started last year and I'm determined too finish them this week. I had to rip out a sweater which was way too big for me and I'm making another top down sweater with the yarn.

I had a lovely chat with a friend of mine who lives in Florida the other night. She asked me to feel sorry for her because it was 53 degrees. I just couldn't muster the sympathy. We talked a bit about our get together this September in Waycross. I'm not as thrilled with this get together because we've already been to Waycross. But an English friend is flying over so that will be fun. I don't think we'll end up the newspaper again though.

February Blahs!

How do I love this weather? Not! The snow is beautiful I'll admit. I hate it when it gets dirty and starts to melt.

I'm getting tired with politics. I'm disappointed that Hillary has not campaigned here in Wisconsin. I would love to meet her.

My granddaughter Sidney made out for Valentine's Day. I made the argyle sweater and my mother made the yellow sweater. Mitch says he isn't into knitted sweaters. His lose.

I went to a knitting retreat in Columbus, Wisconsin two weeks ago. I hadn't been there in two years. I was so happy to find some one who wanted to go with me. I bought too much yarn and a couple knitting books. I also got to go swimming. I bought a swimsuit last year but it was to small. Now it fits. I'm proud of myself.

I finished the top down sweater from our guild project and wore it today. I really liked how it turned out. I'll have to have a photo taken.

Pleasant thoughts for the end of February.
