Isn't this beautiful?

When we drive out to our sons house we go by a small farm. Last week I saw what I thought was a white peacock. I thought I might be seeing things but today when we drove by again there it was but the plume wasn't up like last time. I googled white peacocks tonight and here's a photo of one. Aren't they something.

And when I die . . .

I want to know my husband and kids loved me.

Today they showed me how much they cared by throwing me a surprise birthday party. My husband took care of the guest list but did forget a few people. One being my friend of over 45 years. I didn't mind because I know she couldn't have made the trip. She has a lot of health issues.

My husband told me a long time ago that the kids were planning a party and I said why are you telling me this. He said that he knew me and knew I wouldn't let go until I got it out of him. I said fine, don't tell me when and where and I won't ask. I guess you have to be married a long time to know those things about your spouse. I've always wanted to know things and I won't let go until I know. I'm like that person looking for the needle in a haystack and finding it. LOL

It was a very nice party. My daughter got me over to her house by asking me to baby-sit. I don't get to see baby Nora enough so of course I wouldn't refuse. When we got there my son-in-law came out with the baby and asked if I was ready to baby-sit and how much he appreciated my coming over. Then I started to walk into the living room and saw my mother. Then I heard surprise! The kids put on a very nice spread and Tom ordered the cake and had brought it over the day before. The cake had a basket full of yarn and knitting needles sticking out. It was really pretty.

Later when every one had left and the kids were dividing up the food the door bell rang and a friend of mine for nearly 40 years showed up. She said she had had a senior moment and looked at the invitation and realized it was today. She said she just had to come over even if she was late. We had a very nice chat. It was a wonderful day.

I said all I've been doing is trying to use up my cotton yarn when asked what I've been doing with myself. I have a feeling I'm going to get very sick of the cotton yarn and wash cloths soon and be stuck with a lot of cotton yarn. There's a lesson to be had. Don't buy more then you need but we knitters never seem to follow that rule. :-)

Sunny Sunday

It was nice to see the sun today. I had a long leisurely breakfast with a friend of mine. We had to laugh when a woman who was a former friend of ours just sits down like old times talking about herself.

I guess I'm just one of the few that felt sorry for Don Imus. I know his words weren't funny but since when are Al Sharpen and Jessie Jackson our moral compass. Those two are (in my opinion) hypocrites. I couldn't believe some of the words in rap music. We used to have a rule in our family that who ever was driving could play their type of music. I heard some songs with some very nasty words.

I'm trying to use up my cotton yarn and not getting very far. I don't know what was in my head when I bought all that yarn in cones. There will be lots of dishcloths for presents this year.

I'll have three days of baby sitting this week. I lucked out last week. I love my grandchildren but they have way to much energy for me.

April Snow?

The photos are from Easter Sunday. My son and his wife put on a very nice dinner. We had fried fish and pork roast. Our two and a half year old Sidney was so comical. She looked like a little cowgirl in her outfit.

I don't usually believe the weatherman but this year he's been pretty accurate. It wouldn't be the first time it's snowed on my birthday so that doesn't surprise me.

Finally, Larry Birkhead is the father of Dannielynn. I hope things will go forward and there's no more drama.

How about the mess with Don Imus. I don't listen or watch his program but I think his apologize should be enough. When NBC starts the news with Don Imus it has to be a very slow news day. I switched to BBC World news at 6 p.m.

I don't recommend knitting when you are tired. I started knitting another wash cloth and fell asleep. I had to rip it out today.
