Annabelle and Nora

This happens to be the best photo taken of my mothers cat Annabelle. She sheds like hell and I'm always picking cat hair out of something I'm knitting.

We baby-sat for the first time yesterday. There's one thing I like about baby-sitting is the fact that I get to go home. Nora was really good but when she's hungry she crys. My daughter can't go far since she's breast feeding.

I'm still working on my sons afghan. I made my grandson a pair of slippers which he just loves. How many boys ask their grandmas to make them things.

Snow and Guild

I woke up to the winter wonderland Tuesday. I love looking at snow but I hate being out in it.

Thursday night was our guild meeting. Photos are of Kathy with the bling vest she made for her granddaughter, Sue with the small leg warmer/decorative cover/shawl and Marge with the shug she completed. We always have a great group of knitters. After the meeting a gentleman came in and talked to a few of us that were still left. He said he used to crochet. A bit later he came back with several young men to ask them what we were doing and asking if Karin bought her yarn. These were bright boys and they didn't think she had and she made it herself. The answer was - yes because Karin spun and dyed the yarn. We like it when people are curious and especially men.

I'm a Googler!

Here's another photo of baby Nora.

Last week when I was visiting my daughter she had "ER" and "Judging Amy" on the TV. I was talking about the actors and actresses and my daughter said I know way to much about these people. When I was a teenager I loved reading movie magazines. I kept a subscription to TV Guide for years. Then came the internet. At first it was Alta Vista and now it's Google. It's so interesting some times when I look up a person and find all kinds of connections. It's useless trivia but it's my trivia.

I baby-sat my sweety Sidney tonight. When my son brought her over she was asleep so we just left her alone and she slept sitting up for about 45 minutes. When she woke up she was naturally a bit upset but she got over it and was telling me about the dog JJ. With this cold weather JJ has been in the house. He usually stays outside in his dog house. Then Sidney had to tell me about her brother taking her toys. She's a chatterbox but still hard to understand. She has the prettiest chestnut colored hair. It's so long.

I'm nearly done with the latest socks on two circs and will give them to my mother.

I had a good time at First Tuesday. That's what we call it and then we have Second Tuesday. We get together and knit at friends homes. I was thinking about having Fifth Tuesday. There aren't many of those during the year. First Tuesday my friend Kathy makes the most delicious scones. Next Tuesday it will probably be cinnamon rolls at Jackies. Yum! Yum!

Brrrrrr!

We are having a cold snap after 10 years. My husband and I were talking about how we still had to go to school when it was this cold and colder. I'm from Northern Wisconsin and I can remember -30 below and nearly freezing to death walking 9 blocks home from school. My parents didn't even think about picking us up from school. I guess they felt if they had to do it we had to do it too.

I'm working on an afghan which will be my at home project. The yarn is from a shop in Northern Wisconsin a group of us went to some time back. I was going to make it in strips but I didn't like it. I like the Napking Scarf pattern best.

I'm also reading. It usually takes me a month to read a book but I finished one on Saturday and started another just before bed. I have it half read which is something for me. I used to be an avid reader when I worked full time but my knitting desire came back and reading has taken a backseat.

Stay warm.
